Spooky games you need to PLAY!

Looking for that scary game fix but have already played all the Amnesias and FNAFs out there? Well I’ve got you covered! Here is my list of horror games you may or may not have heard of that are sure to get you in the Halloween spirit… or scar you for life:

1. Evil Within 2: Now I would be insane not to include Evil Within 2 on this list. One of the bigger titles I’ve included, most people have probably heard of this game. The first Evil Within made me shut it off in the first 5 minutes because I could barely handle. Beautifully horrifying graphics, nightmarish monsters and an atmosphere to make your skin crawl, Evil Within 2 is sure to bring those big scares you’re craving. Price: $60 Release Date: October 13, 2017

2. Home Sweet Home: A Thai horror game, Home Sweet Home pulls from Thai myths to frighten the player. You wake up in an unfamiliar place and must use your stealth and puzzle-solving abilities to survive whatever sinister evil is chasing you. Price: $16.99 Release Date: September 27, 2017

3. Detention: This 2D side-scroller is set in 1960s Taiwan and follows two students who find themselves trapped in high school (horrifying am I right?). The art style for this game is really cool and reminds me of horror movies like The Ring and The Grudge. This point-and-click game haunts the player with its original score as you try to escape from whatever curse you’ve landed in. Price: $11.99 Release Date: January 12, 2017

4. Bendy and the Ink Machine: Don’t let the cutesy art fool you, Bendy is more than just a trip down the nostalgic road of old-timey animation. This game turns those simple cartoons into sinister monsters out to get you as you explore an abandoned animator’s workshop. I love unique looking games and this one definitely stands out from the thousands of horror games out there. And the best thing about it? IT’S FREE! Price: FREE Release Date: April 27, 2017

5. Deep Sleep: Now we all can’t go out and buy a bunch of $60 horror games, but you don’t need to drop big bucks to get the scares you want. Deep Sleep is an older point and click horror game that came out back in 2012, but can still terrify the crap out of you in 2017. This game has the jump scares, the mysterious phone calls from people whispering “get out”, the dark shadows you catch a glimpse of in the corner of your eye, all the things needed to thoroughly creep you out. One moment of the game even had me backing up out of my chair trying to get away from my screen. Price: FREE Release Date: 2012

6. One Chance: I love a good game that messes with your mind a little. One Chance definitely delivers. You are a scientist who has found the cure for cancer! Oh wait.. Turns out that cure is actually a virus that will kill every living cell on earth in just 6 days. How will you spend those 6 days? That’s up to you. You have to live with the consequences. And the craziest thing about this game? You literally only get one chance to play it. The game remembers your browser so even if you refresh the page you can’t replay the game… Price: FREE Release Date: 2010

There are so many more scary games out there that I love but those were just a few that made the list! What scary games are YOU into right now? Let us know in the comments below!

It’s such a great game! And a lot of spooky games like that are actually going on sale this month so keep a look out on Steam!

  • MythicalMaximus

All great games! I still need to play The Evil Within 2, but I really enjoyed the first one! My list would also include Resident Evil 7 and Dead By Daylight.

Yessss such good games! I’m actually surprised more horror games didn’t release this October. Evil Within 2 is the only big one I can think of!
